It is indeed a human fallacy to conveniently forget the golden aphorisms like: Democracy is the government of the corrupt, by the corrupt, for the corrupt. In a true democracy, ‘others’, even if they outnumber, do not matter. Some Abes try hard to make people believe on the contrary by circulating fancy and similar sounding adulterated aphorisms.
In the last few days, couple of people strayed from their respective paths to incite the gullible people against corruption which, in reality, is inciting against the sovereign Government of India. If this is not treason, then what is?
Historically, treason invariably calls for immediate death sentence for the offending leader and followers alike. Couple of people who are trying to garner glory in direct competition with each other will do well to remember that they owe their lives to the present Government and they would have got killed before starting an agitation, be it silent or otherwise, in countries with less tolerant democracies than that of ours.
Even if nearly all the 1.21 billion (2011 census) revolt, our true democracy (read the definition again) can’t be shaken. Rome was not built in a day and so is the case with our democracy. Ours is a 64 year strong democracy with select few at the helm of affairs.
Our Government steered by the current generation of Gandhians should be firm enough to give the taste of The Indian Emergency of 25 June 1975 – 21 March 1977 imposed by post independent India's first true Gandhian to all those who have nearly forgotten or too juvenile to remember or know what it would be like.
Long live our true democracy.
